Job Summary
Security Officer responsible for maintaining a safe and peaceful environment at a hospital, patrols campus, assists patients and staff, enforces hospital rules, monitors security systems, prepares reports, and may carry weapons under PA 330 with CPL. Requires MD Michigan PA 330 certification readiness, BLS/AHA First Aid/AED, and potential Taser/ECD usage; duties include de-escalation, escorting, responding to emergencies, and collaboration with law enforcement.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two to three years’ law-enforcement related work experience as a police officer; hospital security, corporate security, reserve police officer or military police
- Carry Pistol License (CPL) license and successful completion of the specialized Taser Training Course
- Electronic Control Devices (ECD) use - requires approval and authorization by the Director
- state of Michigan license requirements upon hire (LICENSE_MI)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA (American Heart Association) 90 Days
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) - UNKNOWN 90 Days
- First Aid - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days
- Preferred Graduation from a state regulated Police Academy
