Job Summary
Patrol hospital grounds on foot, vehicle, or bike while monitoring alarms, cameras, and radio traffic in the Security Operations Center. Enforce rules, investigate suspected crimes, and prepare detailed reports on daily activities, irregularities, and investigations. Utilize verbal de-escalation skills to neutralize volatile situations involving patients, staff, and visitors without escalation. Provide security escorts, assist with patient restraints as ordered, and respond to fire hazards, safety incidents, and Hazmat decontamination procedures. Maintain a safe environment for all individuals on property and off-site buildings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two to three years' law-enforcement related work experience as a police officer; hospital security, corporate security, reserve police officer or military police
- The ability to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other dangerous incidents
- Electronic Control Devices (ECD) use - requires approval and authorization by the Director
- requires a current Carry Pistol License (CPL) license and successful completion of the specialized Taser Training Course
