Job Summary
Security Officer duties include campus patrol by foot, golf cart, or patrol unit; ensure safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors; respond to incidents; enforce campus rules (parking, smoking, alcohol, drugs); direct traffic; provide crowd control during events; liaise with local law enforcement; operate security equipment such as alarms and control panels; perform custodial and maintenance duties as needed; location on Gainesville campus with 40 hours/week schedule including weekends and odd shifts; requires background checks, driver’s license validation, and pre-employment drug screening as part of screenings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years in Law Enforcement or Security experience preferred
- Post-Certified highly preferred
