Job Summary
Patrol the university campus by foot, golf cart, or patrol unit, monitoring walkways, parking lots, and buildings while operating security equipment like alarms and control panels. Respond to reports of incidents such as suspicious activity or security violations, and enforce campus rules regarding parking, smoking, and alcohol and drug use by issuing warnings, citations, and towing requests. Direct traffic and parking, provide crowd control for special events, and act as a liaison between the university and local law enforcement. Perform custodial and maintenance duties, provide information and directions, and maintain records. This full-time, 40-hour on-site role requires extensive walking, lifting up to 100 lbs, and operating a motor vehicle with a clean driving record. The position includes Saturday/Sunday and night shifts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible to work in the United States on or before the confirmed start date
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to operate and drive a motor vehicle
- Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be willing to submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must be willing to submit to and pass a criminal background check
- Must have and maintain a favorable criminal history
- Must report any arrest within five days of its occurrence
- Must report any subsequent legal action (conviction, dismissal of charges, etc.)
- Must be a responsible employee (not a confidential employee) regarding Title IX reporting
- Must report any possible sexual harassment or discrimination based on sex to the Title IX Coordinator
- Must promptly provide Title IX Coordinator contact information when informed of pregnancy or related conditions
- Must have and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license (MVR check required)
- Must have and maintain a good driving record
- Must undergo a criminal background check
- Must maintain employment eligibility throughout employment
