Job Summary
Patrol premises regularly to maintain order, monitor vehicle and pedestrian access, and remove trespassers. Secure exits, doors, and windows at end of operations, while checking surveillance cameras for disruptions and investigating suspicious activities or alarms. Respond to incidents, provide assistance to people in need, and submit daily reports documenting surveillance activities and occurrences. Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with safety standards and policies, and promptly report unsafe conditions or equipment issues to management. Participate in required training sessions and safety briefings. Shift runs 11 pm to 7 am at Bell Towne Center Mall in Phoenix, AZ. This is the only shift available.
Required Qualifications
- DPS licensed AZ Unarmed Guard card
- Proven experience as a security officer or guard
- Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
- Familiarity with detailed report writing and observation techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design), the Incident Command System, and critical infrastructure protection
- High school diploma
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to visually inspect and interpret data or details
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
- Exposure to extreme temperatures
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Work in elevated areas or confined spaces
- Extended periods of driving or travel
- Shift work, weekend availability, or on-call assignments
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., sitting or standing) for extended periods of time
- Ability to move throughout the work environment, including bending, reaching, walking, and climbing stairs
- Frequent use of hands to operate computer systems, tools, or equipment
- Compliance with all applicable safety, drug/alcohol testing, and fitness-for-duty requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Prior military or law enforcement experience
- Bilingual ability
- Excellent surveillance and observation skills
- Tech-savvy, with experience in surveillance systems
- Trained in First Aid/BLS and self-defense
- Registered as a security officer
