Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •Completed High School Diploma or GED
• •Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable licenses or certifications
• •Strong vision abilities including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• •Must be able to stand and/or walk for an entire work shift
• •Must be able to move or lift objects up to 80 lbs.
• •Must be able to help restrain or lift a person
• •Valid driver's license
• •Ability to meet Tarian driving guidelines if applicable
• •At least 21 years of age
• •Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable local or state license or permit to carry a weapon
• •Ability to pass the initial and semi-annual Tarian approved firearms training course
• •Ability to participate and meet the requirements of additional firearms training at the discretion of the firearms instructor
• •Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of the Tarian policies
• •Ability to meet qualification standards when initially placed in a Taser position and annually thereafter
• •Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable local or state license or permit to carry a Taser
• •Ability to participate in and pass additional Taser training at the discretion of the Taser instructor and/or Tarian
• •Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of Tarian's Conducted Energy Weapon (Taser), Tarian's Taser Policy
• •Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for variable amounts of time throughout an assigned shift
• •Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
• •Must be able to reach with hands and arms
• •Must be able to climb stairs
• •Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch
• •Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move objects 25 pounds or more
• •Must have close vision
• •Must have distance vision
• •Must have color vision
• •Must have peripheral vision
• •Must have depth perception
• •Must have the ability to adjust focus
• •Must be able to engage in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation
• •Must be able to perform under pressure
• •Must be able to work any of the 7 days of the week
• •Must be able to work variable workweeks that may exceed 40 hours
• •Must be able to adapt to site-specific requirements and client expectations
• •Must be able to provide supervision for at-risk patients in the hospital environment
• •Must be able to serve as a visible deterrent to illegal activities on hospital property
• •Must be able to maintain the security and safety of the hospital, its staff, and its patients and visitors
• •Must be able to uphold Tarian's commitment to safety and security
• •Must be able to support the values and culture of the client and community
• •Must be able to provide direct security and related public services
• •Must be able to support safety and security operations through patrols, monitoring, access control, and customer assistance
• •Must be able to perform other job-related duties as assigned
• •Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable local or state license or permit to carry a weapon (Armed)
