Job Summary

Enforce company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property while conducting routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations. Investigate accidents and other incidents, report all occurrences in a timely manner, and perform opening or lockdown procedures as approved by Administration. Participate in emergency response and preparedness drills, adapt behavior to the specific patient population, and remain knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws. Maintain required annual certifications and complete training requirements within required time periods. This role requires a clean DMV report, BLS certification, and firearms training, with employment contingent upon successful completion of the FTO Program within the first 60 days.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in Security, law enforcement, or military
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Valid driver's license in the state of practice and clean DMV report
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI)
  • firearms training
  • International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
  • proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individual
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Ability to continuously walk the company property including outside areas, interior areas, using stairwells in 11 floor plus structure
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Ability to adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards
