Job Summary
Security Officer monitors and provides protection for facilities, premises, employees, patients and visitors under supervision. Requires tactful communication with the general public and knowledge of security methods in buildings and grounds. Performs routine duties following clearly prescribed standards; shift work and some overtime. Minimum requirements include a High School Degree or Equivalent and 1 year of relevant experience; a Bachelor's degree or other relevant certifications may substitute for experience. Must obtain/maintain IAHSS certification within the first year and hold a valid South Carolina Driver’s License. MUSC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-Verify.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or Equivalent
- 1 year of experience in Security, Law Enforcement, Fire Service, Emergency Medical Service, Behavioral Health, Counselor, Education, or Military
- IAHSS certification within first year
- valid South Carolina Driver’s License
