Job Summary
Monitor Museum entrances and screen incoming personnel while maintaining sign-in logs and badging processes. Patrol premises as directed to protect collections, control crowds at entry points, and deter vandalism or violence. Respond to emergencies including fires, evacuations, or injuries by administering First Aid, CPR, and AED. Perform duties in the Security Console, inspecting cameras, alarms, and communication systems daily. Complete incident reports and assist with on-the-job training for new officers. Work 40 hours weekly from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM under the direct supervision of the security shift supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent
- Three or more years of security experience
- Have the ability to work under pressure and take charge in rapidly escalating situations
- Strong Computer Skills such as Gmail, Google Calendar etc.
- Be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
- Respond quickly to alarms and/or emergencies
- Climb ladders
- Lift or move equipment such as packages, cables or parcels
- Must be able to lift or carry 20 or more pounds
- Flexible with the schedule and may be required to assist with staffing assignments on other shifts
