Security Manager, Global Operations

Job Summary
Conduct global travel security assessments, coordinate emergency responses, and lead evacuation support for clients and the Global Operations Centre. Deliver tailored pre-travel briefings to diverse stakeholders, manage ad hoc security tasks including secure transport and welfare checks, and maintain Concept of Operations libraries for rapid deployment. Supervise Security Specialists through recruitment, training, and performance reviews while ensuring strict adherence to operational protocols and quality standards. Serve as the out-of-hours Operations Duty Manager on a rotational basis, maintaining 24/7 readiness to provide immediate crisis management advice and command assets during life-threatening incidents.
Required Qualifications
- Native / Fluent English language, reading and written ability
- Operational experience and background with government military/armed forces, law enforcement, NGO or corporate security in the private sector
- Degree level education or relevant professional training & experience in a field related to security studies, war studies, international politics, international relations or similar
- Operational and crisis management knowledge and understanding
- Proven ability of threat identification, risk assessment and the application of reasonable and proportionate control measures
- Having lived/worked abroad &/or international travel security knowledge and experience
- A current and internationally recognised security management competency/professional qualification
- Proven ability to quickly assess a situation and take a decision (often with limited information, time, and resources) based on a clear and definable rationale, taking responsibility for the outcome
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritise tasks with competing timelines in a fast-moving environment
- Competent in leading and overseeing operational teams, mission planning, execution, and after-action review cycle
- Proven ability to handle stressful situations and adapt to rapidly changing operational requirements
- Worldwide geographical knowledge essential, with an active interest in current affairs
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office and an aptitude to learn new, applications and systems
- General financial awareness and understanding in a globally focused organization
- Ability to work extended hours during a crisis event
- Travel for client engagement, conferences and training as requested
- Sometime urgent travel as part of the Incident Management Team (IMT) deployment
- Serve as the out-of-hours Operations Duty Manager one week in every eight
- Maintain 24/7 readiness to support Global Operations Centre staff during urgent incidents
- Provide immediate, and ongoing safety & security advice (to those directly and/or indirectly impacted)
- Assess the situation, carry out associated planning, present options & recommend courses of action, and assist in the execution of the solution/task
- Act as a key communications link with organization points of contact & crisis management teams
- Manage, guide, and coordinate the operations centre staff, internal responses and supporting internal intelligence teams, and contracted security providers
- Carry the responsibility of authorization, invocation, and command of all necessary assets (support staff, in country assets, third party security and transport providers) to assist impacted personnel
