Job Summary
Oversee all security aspects of the daily hotel operation, including supervising and training security personnel. Develop and implement security plans and policies to protect assets and people, while maintaining professional relationships with government and law enforcement partners. Respond to guest complaints, ensure compliance with SOPs and requisition procedures, and prepare required reports. Be visible on the floor to assist staff and conduct departmental training. Maintain confidentiality, handle problems by anticipating and solving them, and collaborate with all departments to ensure protocol compliance. Maintain regular attendance and high personal standards. This role supports Highgate's global portfolio of over 400 hotels by safeguarding assets, associates, and guests across North America, Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in hotel security or a related field
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English and Spanish, both verbally and written
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
- Must collaborate with all departments, to ensure compliance of security protocols
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing nametags
- Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
