Job Summary
Lead the City's information security program, serving as the cybersecurity subject matter expert for network, perimeter, and physical security systems. Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments, administer firewalls and VPNs, and oversee incident response and recovery activities. Manage electronic access control, video surveillance, and data center physical security, ensuring compliance with GCIC and CJIS standards. Guide the safe adoption of artificial intelligence by evaluating tools, enforcing governance frameworks, and training staff on responsible use. Partner with the Information Technology Director and Facilities to coordinate security across infrastructure and vendor services. This exempt role requires a Georgia Crime Information Center certification and a valid driver's license for travel between city facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a closely related field
- At least three (3) years of experience in information security, network administration, or systems administration with a demonstrated security focus
- Hands-on experience administering firewalls and VPN or secure remote access technologies
- Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) certification
- Valid Georgia driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with security frameworks, incident response, and vulnerability management
- Experience in a municipal, public safety, or CJIS-regulated environment
- Experience supporting electronic access control, badge reader, or video surveillance systems, and familiarity with the convergence of physical and cyber security
- Experience developing or administering artificial intelligence governance, acceptable use, or emerging technology risk policies
- One or more security certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent
