Job Summary
Respond to all safety concerns, security incidents, and service requests at Seattle Children's facilities by deterring, detecting, preventing, and documenting risks to patients, families, visitors, and property using appropriate protocols and non-violent crisis intervention methods. Primary responders for safety and security in departments including the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit and Research locations, operating across day, night, evening, and weekend shifts with part-time and on-call options. Required credentials include Basic Life Support (BLS), Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI), and Seattle Children's Safe Firearms Training. Interviews are scheduled for Friday, August 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Sand Point Learning Center. Starting pay is $25.00 for entry-level positions, with increases for Security Levels I and II, plus shift differentials and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire
- CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification within 90 days of hire
- Completion of NCI Autism Training within 12 months of hire
- Completion of Seattle Children's Safe Firearms Training within 12 months of hire
- Safety Cares Certification within 90 days of hire
- Completion of Car Seat Safety Training within 12 months of hire
- Score of 80% or above on Seattle Children's Security Competency Exam in assigned area of the Security Department within 12 months
- Level I high school or equivalent experience
- Level II Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field
- 3 years related experience in Security Services or related field
Desired Qualifications
- Valid Washington State Driver's License with a driving record acceptable to Risk Management
- Completion of Wheelchair vehicle Training
- International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Certification
