Job Summary
Conduct lawful security patrols, maintain vigilance against theft, and apprehend shoplifters safely on foot while ensuring all arrests comply with the Criminal Code of Canada. Report all criminal incidents to store management and submit detailed shift reports before the end of your duty. Carry a valid security worker's license and maintain a neat uniform, arriving punctually to sign the security log and limit personal electronic device use except in emergencies. Interact courteously with customers and employees while protecting store assets. Requires a valid Security Worker's License, current BST certificate, and at least one year of AST experience. Offers $18.00 per hour, dental and extended health care, and flexible 8-hour weekday and weekend shifts totaling 36–40 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications

- Perform duties with a commitment to protecting store customers, employees, and assets.
- Always carry a valid security worker's license while on duty.
- Arrive on time, in uniform, and neatly dressed.
- Be vigilant for theft and assist store employees by creating a deterrent to theft through presence and apprehension of shoplifters.
- Ensure arrests comply with the Criminal Code of Canada (Sections 494, 25 & 26).
- Pursue shoplifters safely and only on foot.
- Do not engage in unsafe actions such as vehicular pursuits.
- Report all criminal incidents to store management and submit detailed reports before the end of your shift.
- Limit conversations to necessary interactions and do not use personal electronic devices except in emergencies.
- Report to store management at the beginning of each shift and sign the security log.
- Valid Security Worker's License
- Current basic Security Training (BST) certificate
- At least 1 year of AST experience (required)
- Excellent communication, observational, and problem-solving skill
