Job Summary
Patrol lobbies, corridors, and public spaces while investigating disturbances, complaints, thefts, and vandalism. Detect fires or unsafe conditions, evaluate safety equipment, and warn or evict troublemakers as needed. Obtain assistance for accident victims, file reports, and notify management of suspicious behaviors. Assist enforcement officers in emergencies and check rooms of guests suspected of leaving without paying. Enter and seize remaining personal property when necessary. Work flexible shifts including days, nights, holidays, and weekends. NY FDNY Fire life safety director preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in various environments such as cold, rain, snow, or heat depending on the property location
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
- Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders regularly
- Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
- Think clearly and react quickly in emergencies
- Make conclusions based on facts and on your own personal judgment
- A can-do attitude and a hands-on approach
- A flexible schedule that allows availability days, nights, holidays, and weekends based on the demands of the hotel
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in security field a plus
- NYC FDNY Fire life safety director preferred
