Job Summary
Security Guard position supporting hospital safety and security operations. Responsible for patrols to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and to ensure the safety of employees, patients, visitors, and physicians. Performs facility access control, reports incidents to local law enforcement, assists staff with disruptive patients (including those on 5150 holds), and upholds HIPAA regulations. Applies AIDET communication principles, maintains professional demeanor, and participates in monthly training while performing duties such as environmental issue reporting and adherence to Life Safety and other hospital programs. Requires basic computer skills and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff, with 6 months to 1 year of acute hospital security experience preferred, and is a full-time, on-site role in Los Angeles, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of current experience in an acute hospital setting as a security guard (preferred)
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy
- Ability to perform building and ground patrols
- Ability to respond to thefts, disturbances, and suspicious activity
- Ability to use and monitor access control systems and alarm systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to use AIDET
- Willingness to attend monthly training
- Professional conduct and adherence to safety and security procedures
