Security Guard Full Time 36hours -2nd shift, EOW

Job Summary
Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors by evaluating potential threats, administering safety protocols, and assisting with de-escalation. Monitor campus security cameras, conduct periodic tours of buildings and grounds, inspect security vehicles, and process lost and found property. Evaluate visitor access, control traffic on grounds, and document all safety and security events in the Incident Reporting System. Assist with communications and dispatching while adhering to all policies and procedures. This full-time 36-hour second shift role requires a valid driver's license, current Connecticut security certification, and First Aid/CPR-AED/CPI certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year experience in security field or law enforcement field
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Valid Drivers License
- Current State of Connecticut Certification as a Licensed Security Officer or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire
- First Aid certification
- CPR-AED certification
- CPI certification
- Mental flexibility to perform diverse duties
- Good communications skills, written and oral
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in emergency situations
- Good organizational skills
- Basic computer skills
- Significant walking
- Manual dexterity and the ability to perform a full range of body movements
- Vision corrected to comply with State of CT drivers license standards
- Capable of hearing and verbally communicating
- Willingness to successfully complete a WorkFit evaluation
- Willingness to be floated or reassigned to another department, unit, office, or location as needed
