Job Summary
Monitor common areas, hallways, gyms, and outdoor spaces to ensure safety and prevent conflicts. Patrol entry and exit points while reviewing security cameras to verify authorized access. De-escalate conflicts through calm verbal requests and document incidents with factual descriptions. Respond to time-sensitive mental health needs and participate in emergency procedures like fire drills and lockdowns. Build positive relationships with caretakers and community members while attending required training and meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma / GED
- New York State Security Guard License
- S-95 FDNY Certificate of Fitness
- F-02 Fire Guard for Shelters certificate
- Able to work 15 hours a week (3 hours a day, 5 days a week)
- Able to attend 15 hours of orientation prior to the beginning of programming
- Able to attend scheduled staff meetings and professional development throughout the year
