Job Summary
CAMBA Security Guard at the Bergen-Saratoga housing development in Brooklyn is responsible for monitoring security and fire safety across the facility, patrolling buildings/grounds, inspecting doors and exits, monitoring surveillance, conducting screenings of tenants and visitors, and documenting incidents. The role requires enforcing rules, counseling tenants, maintaining security logs and equipment, and contributing to weekly/monthly/annual reporting. Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED or equivalent, and candidates must hold a NYS Security Guard license and obtain required fingerprint clearance and various security-training certifications (pre-assignment, on-the-job, and annual in-service). The position is full-time with a starting compensation of $19.10 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D or equivalent experience
- Must have NYS Security Guard license
- Must obtain NYS Security Guard registration and maintain it during employment
- Must obtain Fire guard certification and maintain it throughout employment
- Must obtain 16 hour On-the-Job security guard training course certificate within 90 days of employment
- Must complete 8 Hour Annual In-Service Course each calendar year
- Must obtain Criminal History Checks (CHC) fingerprinting through NYS OMH and Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs and Staff Exclusion List clearance
- Must be Mandated Reporter and report suspected incidents/cases of abuse and neglect to VPCR
- Must maintain fingerprint clearance throughout employment
- 8 hour Pre-Assignment security guard training certificate
