Job Summary
Contract Security Guard position in Newfoundland province. AFIMAC deployments include Labour Disruptions, Organized protests, and crisis/disaster scenarios. Requires a valid Newfoundland security guard license, ability to travel within the province on short notice, and willingness to commit to extended periods (minimum 4 weeks) with 84-hour workweeks (12-hour shifts, weekends/holidays). Responsibilities include monitoring and de-escalation in potentially confrontational situations and producing clear incident reports. Accommodations provided when required; travel and lodging arrangements may be offered as part of assignments. Applicants must be Canadian residents legally entitled to work in Canada and fluent in English.
Required Qualifications
- Valid security guard license in the province of Newfoundland
- Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice within Newfoundland to projects for extended periods
- Ability to work 84 hours per week: 12 hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Able to sit, walk, stand, and/or drive for extended periods of time
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Be a Canadian resident and legally entitled to work in Canada
- Previous experience dealing with confrontational situations and having the ability to de-escalate with little to no supervision
- Excellent report writing skills
