Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicles, watch for irregular conditions, and sound alarms or call police for unauthorized persons. Warn violators of rule infractions, permit authorized entry, and monitor entrances and exits to protect against theft. Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, maintain written logs, and make emergency notifications as required. Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner while operating radio or telephone equipment. Work various schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays with little to no advance notice. Valid driver's license required; background investigation and drug screen are conditions of employment.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid Drivers License for more than 1 year
- Must be flexible to work various work schedules, nights, weekends and holidays
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen
- Be at least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
