Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicles while monitoring entrances, exits, and departing personnel to prevent theft. Watch for irregular conditions, warn violators of rule infractions, and sound alarms or notify police/fire for unauthorized persons or emergencies. Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, maintain written logs, and make emergency notifications per site Post Orders. Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner; operate radio or telephone equipment and console monitors. Work irregular shifts with little to no advance notice. Valid driver's license, background investigation, and drug screen required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Teamwork
- Attention to detail
- Must be able to work irregular shifts at times with little to no advance notice
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
