Job Summary
Security Engineer to join SpaceX Information Security to design, build, and maintain security solutions for SpaceX systems, networks, and data. Responsibilities include implementing authentication/identity services (multi-factor, network access control), identity lifecycle and automation, network security infrastructure, application security controls (e.g., web application firewalls), cloud security policy enforcement, centralized configuration management and monitoring; serving as SME and documenting technologies; collaborating with security, IT, HR, legal, software and other teams; and contributing to measurable reductions in risk. Preferred skills include secure code practices, PKI, SAML/OIDC/OAuth, TPM/HSM, TCP/IP knowledge, APIs/REST, cross-platform security controls, and strong problem-solving abilities. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: willingness to work extended hours/weekends; onsite requirement (hybrid/remote not considered); ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience in security software development in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with the Python programming language, GO, C#, C/C++, or Rust.
- Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or other enterprise/large-scale infrastructure.

- ITAR REQUIREMENTS: U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
