Job Summary
Security Engineer, Platform responsible for building and improving the security foundations of Resend’s platform (API keys, secrets management, tenant isolation, audit logs, access controls) and designing secure defaults for services and deployment pipelines. Key duties include enhancing detection and response for suspicious access, reviewing processes to ensure security is built-in, and driving security maturity. Ideal candidates will have experience securing production infrastructure, cloud environments, APIs, developer platforms, or multi-tenant SaaS, and be comfortable reading and writing code across application, infrastructure, and deployment layers. Bonus experience includes email infrastructure, sender reputation, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, cloud tooling (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Cloudflare), open source security practices, SOC 2/ISO 27001/GDPR readiness, and building security observability and incident response workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Experience securing production infrastructure, cloud environments, APIs, developer platforms, or multi-tenant SaaS products
- Ability to read and write code across application, infrastructure, and deployment code
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, secrets, IAM, logging, audit trails, incident response, and secure deployment pipelines
- Willingness to be the first dedicated security hire
- Desire to prioritize practical improvements over heavy processes
- Low-ego, direct, curious attitude and willingness to learn from others
- Care about developer experience and security usability
