Job Summary
OpenAI is seeking a Security Engineer to join its Infrastructure Security (InfraSec) team, responsible for protecting the foundations of OpenAI’s research and production environments. The role includes designing and building security controls across various layers, collaborating with engineering and security teams for deployment of security enhancements, and tackling high-impact projects like checkpoint encryption and network isolation. Candidates should possess a deep understanding of security best practices, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to identifying security gaps, with experience in cloud security, on-prem deployments, and container security.
Required Qualifications
- Track record of delivering scalable solutions and driving impactful changes across infrastructure in real-world projects
- Excitement about collaborating with cross-functional teams to build secure, reliable systems that scale globally
Desired Qualifications
- Deep understanding of security principles, best practices, and common vulnerabilities
- Proactive mindset with ability to identify and address security gaps or inefficiencies through automation and tooling
- Expertise in the security of cloud platforms (e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure)
- Experience securing on-prem deployments and datacenters
- Familiarity with container security, orchestration security, and authentication/authorization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
