Job Summary
Security Engineer to design, deploy and sustain security solutions for Defence and National Security in Canberra; responsibilities include deploying compute, storage and network infrastructure in secure, air-gapped datacentres for SIEM applications, architecting and managing Kubernetes clusters with Rancher Kubernetes Engine (RKE2), OpenShift Container Platform and Azure Kubernetes Service for secure containerised deployments, developing Windows-based audit collection agents and endpoint monitoring software using C#, .NET and SQL Server to enhance telemetry quality and responsiveness, designing and implementing data ingestion, normalisation and enrichment pipelines using Apache NiFi for SIEM data, managing Elastic Stack indexes and supporting data analysis with Kibana and Stroom, and providing ICT security compliance guidance, mentoring team members, and contributing to design standards.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a highly complex environment with Defence or Federal Government
- Extensive experience in Linux and Kubernetes preferably in deployed environments
- Ability to provide advice on ICT Security compliance and risk mitigation
- Experience with Data transport and Stroom will be highly regarded
- Currently hold an AGSVA Clearance as required by the Commonwealth; ITAR requirements may be an inherent requirement
