Security Engineer

Job Summary
Represent Chai's security posture to partner CISOs and cloud architects by reviewing compute architecture, tenant isolation, egress controls, encryption, and key management. Drive product and infrastructure changes based on partner feedback while partnering with inference engineers to review shared fleets and data isolation before deployment. Ship complex security controls, automate compliance, onboarding, and vendor work, and own end-to-end detection, response, and incident management. This role requires 5+ years in security engineering with startup experience and the ability to write targeted production code in Python or TypeScript.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in security engineering
- having built or meaningfully improved a security program at a high-growth company
- The ability to write targeted production code (Python, TypeScript)
- Startup or high-growth experience
- working close to engineering rather than at arm's length
- The credibility and presence to represent Chai on customer security calls with pharma CISOs
- Comfort owning detection, response, and incident management end to end
- Familiarity with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 as programs to run well, not boxes to check
Desired Qualifications
- Life sciences or other regulated-industry experience
- A background in biology
