Job Summary
Supervise daily loading dock operations, vendor logistics, and physical security for a Class-A commercial office tower in Chicago's West Loop. Manage on-site dock officers, enforce access control guidelines, and ensure OSHA and local safety compliance while monitoring inbound and outbound deliveries. Handle escalated security issues, emergency situations, and policy violations in a timely manner. Reconcile logs, shift responsibilities, and incident reports; coordinate with building management, tenants, and operations teams regarding dock activity. Develop staff through performance management, coaching, and site-specific training while maintaining accurate daily activity logs and shipping documentation. Monitor CCTV and alarm systems related to dock operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3 years of prior satisfactory employment as a security officer or directly related experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid Security License if required by state
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Be able to lift, push, and/or pull at least 50 lbs.
- Be able to accommodate foot patrols on the interior & exterior of the assigned facility
- Be able to perform assigned duties regardless of inclement weather
- Must maintain a working telephone number through which we can contact you
