Job Summary

As a Security Controls Assessor, you will plan and execute comprehensive security control assessments in alignment with RMF and FISMA, perform configuration reviews and vulnerability testing to validate security posture, produce Security Assessment Reports (SARs) and risk determinations for Authorizing Officials, identify weaknesses and support POA&Ms, and lead junior assessors while coordinating with ISSOs and stakeholders. Ideal candidates have US citizenship, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 5+ years of cybersecurity/audit/compliance experience focused on RMF/NIST guidance, deep familiarity with NIST SP 800-53/800-53A and FISMA, and relevant certifications (CISSP, CISA, CAP); a federal background investigation is required. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and requires on-site work in Bluemont, Virginia.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, or a related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, audit, or compliance with RMF and NIST 800-series publications
  • Regulatory understanding of NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-53A, and FISMA
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CAP
  • Ability to obtain Federal background investigation and DHS suitability
