Job Summary
Oversee and provide assistance to associates, customers, and visitors while maintaining positive contact between internal and external stakeholders. Investigate accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety hazards, and fire issues, then write detailed reports. Proactively manage Security Desk work processes to ensure compliance with internal policies. Apply safety and security knowledge for quick decisions during emergencies, including medical, fire, and police situations, by assessing risks and contacting the Security Director immediately. Maintain electronic and paper files, route incoming emails and documents per guidelines, and recognize deficiencies to recommend process improvements. Work full-time (37.5 hrs weekly, 7:30 am - 5:30 pm, M-T-T-F) as a backfill for Matt Edgar at Markel Group.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/equivalent
- Current Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, Armed Security Officer
- Current CPR/AED/Basic First Aid
- Minimum of 10 years of previous Law Enforcement/Public Safety and/or Corporate Security
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Strong working knowledge of BRIVO ACS and EagleEye VMS
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong team player
- Flexibility and attention to details
- Ability to work in high-stress environments and manage emergency situations
- Ability to lift 75 lbs
- Ability to walk 1 mile
- Ability to run 150 yards
- Ability to climb five(5) flights of stairs
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S., and not require sponsorship now or in the future
- US Work Authorization required
