Security Architect (Exposure Management Presales) - Northeast region
On-siteNortheast, New York, United States
Job Summary
Lead technical discovery calls and translate customer challenges into high-level solution designs for vulnerability management, CAASM, and cloud security programs. Create architecture diagrams, roadmaps, and service scopes while validating feasibility and identifying dependencies before formal scoping. Speak credibly about integrations and trade-offs across platforms like Tenable, Rapid7, Wiz, and Axonius to support account executives during meetings, workshops, and proposal development. Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure smooth transitions from sales to implementation and help develop reusable sales materials and reference architectures. Work remotely with occasional travel to the Northeast region for customer engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must currently live in our Northeast region (ideally New England or New York Metro)
- Must be available for travel as needed primarily in our Northeast region for customer meetings, workshops, conferences, and internal collaboration
- You understand vulnerability management and Exposure Management ecosystems at a fundamental level, including scanning, asset discovery, cloud exposure, attack surface management, CAASM, prioritization, remediation workflows, and reporting
- You can uncover the real problem behind a customer request rather than immediately recommending a product or predefined service
- You can explain complex technical and programmatic topics in accessible language
- You listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and build trust quickly with both technical teams and executives
- You are comfortable working across multiple platforms and helping customers make decisions based on their environment and goals
- You understand how technical recommendations affect scope, delivery effort, risk, timeline, and customer expectations
- You are motivated to learn new technologies and approaches as the Exposure Management market evolves
- Experience working within a customer security environment, consulting organization, technology vendor, or pre-sales engineering team
- Experience assessing or validating multiple vulnerability management, Exposure Management, CAASM, CNAPP, attack surface management, or remediation technologies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a technical pre-sales, consulting, architecture, engineering, or customer advisory position
- Deep implementation expertise across every platform is not required. We value breadth, communication, technical judgment, and the ability to involve the appropriate specialists when deeper expertise is needed
- A strong understanding of both technology and program maturity, recognizing that tools alone do not create a successful Exposure Management program
- The right person communicates clearly, is technically credible, friendly, curious, and grounded
- They know when to involve a deeper technical specialist and leave customers feeling confident that GuidePoint understands their challenges and can successfully deliver the proposed solution
