Job Summary
Install and configure application components for the NY APD solution across Windows Server, Linux, and Oracle environments. Manage scheduled maintenance, submit change controls, and provide end-user support via ticketing systems. Troubleshoot application and database problems while ensuring security compliance with State and Federal policies. Validate disaster recovery plans and monitor high availability virtual environments. Support 24x7 production operations and report on service level agreements.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years System Administration experience with Windows and Unix
- Strong understanding of Linux systems administration, maintenance and security
- Strong understanding of Windows systems administration, maintenance and security
- General auditing/troubleshooting experience on all levels (network, Linux, software, hardware)
- Day-to-day troubleshooting of application and database problems
- Informatica installation and support experience
- Tableau Server installation and support experience
- Proactive application monitoring and trouble resolution
- Report writing in support of service level agreement reporting requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Network Administration (Firewall, ACLs/NAT, design, upgrades, security)
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals
- Working knowledge of scripting and automation tools like Python/Shell/Perl
- Experience managing high availability virtual environments utilizing VMWare
- Experience with and willingness to support 24x7 production environments
