Job Summary
Coordinate administrative and operational security activities on a specific shift in a residential re-entry center, leading staff to maintain adequate coverage. Read post orders, conduct resident formal counts, and directly lead monitors and residents in performing duties, including training new employees, resolving complaints, developing schedules, and approving leave requests. Maintain daily logs, report unauthorized activity, and ensure safety practices with timely preparation of accident and disciplinary reports. Conduct visual and audio surveillance, perform extended patrols, and inspect housing areas to verify security standards. Communicate effectively with staff, residents, and visitors while taking appropriate action during emergencies. Complete in-service training and comply with facility policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year as a Monitor I or two (2) years related experience in a similar field
- Must hold a current and active Driver's License
- Ability to work any assigned shift
- Ability to work with computers and the applicable software typically used by the facility
