Section Manager Production

Job Summary

Lead the Section Manager Production team by providing overall leadership and coordination while taking financial, operational, and statutory accountability for the section. Align assembly processes to the master production schedule, monitor daily deviations, and execute corrective actions to maintain quality KPIs and customer expectations. Manage team performance, resolve conflicts, and instigate continuous improvement initiatives across health, safety, and security compliance. Rotate through different departments as required and cover the full 7-day operation.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree educated preferred and/or relevant equivalent work experience at similar level
  • Food and hygiene related education/training
  • Various management training
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced Unionised work environment
  • Previous management experience with a demonstrable track record of leadership within a Food Hygiene/Health & Safety/High Security environment
  • Experience leading projects and people across organisations and maintaining mandatory standards to ensure the safety of products and processes and to improve product quality
  • Experience with applying lean manufacturing techniques system
  • Food Safety certification
  • Continuous Improvement / Lean management certification / training
  • Analytical and Numerical skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Must always demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Ability to work efficiently using own initiative to resolve issues
  • Ability to build relations and manage diverse teams
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales, prioritising as appropriate
  • Proactive and positive/flexible attitude
  • All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
  • Undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check)
  • Provide 5 years of checkable referencing history

Desired Qualifications

  • Desirable specialization in Operational and People Management
  • Degree educated and/or demonstrable continued professional development at a senior level is preferred
  • Professional qualification in operations/logistics preferred
  • Certification or demonstrable experience in Lean six Sigma preferred
