Section Manager (Post-Cast)

Job Summary

Manage post-cast department production and operations to meet plant needs, regulatory requirements, and profitability targets. Plan budgets, develop projects to increase productivity and reduce waste, and oversee staff performance. Establish organizational policies, review forecasts with Manufacturing and Engineering to adjust schedules, and process daily incoming orders for production location, staffing, and inventory decisions. Assist sales with quotes and field visits, while analyzing financial reports to measure goal achievement and drive cost-saving improvements. Maintain inventory accuracy, enforce 6S and Lean Manufacturing standards, and ensure adherence to OSHA and EPA regulations. Lead hiring, training, and evaluation of direct reports and manage capital projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Seven to ten years' manufacturing experience in increasingly responsible roles
  • Knowledge of the casting industry
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, Oracle reports and PEIs as well as complex documents and reports
  • Excellent team skills
  • Ability to interact with other employees, engineers, and leadership
  • Ability to drive safety
  • Ability to report progress with engineers to solve issues
