Job Summary

Lead a team of 8–15 engineers and analysts to realize Mission Planning team objectives, acting as the subject matter expert for mission planning expertise. Develop common mission planning solutions across programs, Captures, and IRADs while growing a mission planning cadre with varied experience and skills. Execute a portfolio of project work for these programs, providing guidance, direction, and mentoring to foster teamwork and interdependent execution. Ensure each direct report has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth, while participating in talent acquisition, goal setting, performance development, and appraisals. Maintain administrative and technical oversight of the section while supporting department and directorate level initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with mission planning for weapons, system performance, CONOPS, or algorithms and signal processing
  • Experience with aerodynamics, Launch Acceptability Regions, or modeling and simulation (i.e. 6-DOF)
  • Experience with software architecture, design, development, integration, and verification (i.e. Linux, virtual machines, C#, C++, Java)
  • Experience with aircraft integration and store interface (i.e. MIL STD 1553 and 1760)
  • Existing TS/SCI security clearance, or past qualification for this clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related discipline
  • Previous management experience in the following: developing and mentoring new employees, communicating with different levels of employees, departments, and/or customers, team building, interviewing and hiring new employees
  • Experience in Military CONOPs
  • Experience with datalink and GPS configuration and keying (i.e. Link-16)
  • Experience and knowledge of the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS), Proposals and Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
