Job Summary
Section Head Engineering leads a survey crew, coordinates assignments and reviews crew work; trains crew on requirements and procedures; serves as lead worker/resolved complex problems; uses modern survey equipment and software during data collection; performs complex field survey tasks; calculates distances, locations, and angles; instructs safe work methods; maintains supplies and equipment; requisitions materials; conducts difficult public contact work; recommends methods/materials for survey completion; maintains field notes and diagrams for review; prepares reports. Additional responsibilities include overseeing an administrative support unit: scheduling assignments, training admin staff, serving as lead expert for administrative tasks, using related software, performing complex clerical work, composing correspondence, managing records, gathering information for technical reports, updating databases, operating Laser fiche Document System, and handling archival/document-related workflows (microfilming, batching, shipping, storage). May perform related work as delegated by supervisor.
