Job Summary
Secretary role providing administrative and secretarial support to the Principal and/or Assistant Principal. Responsibilities include coordinating and administering the receipt and processing of matters, maintaining calendars and reminders, producing correspondence and reports, and initiating communications with students, parents and staff. The position involves handling school databases (e.g., attendance, discipline, grades), payroll-related processes, budgets, procurements, mail distribution, and coordinating with volunteers. Requires strong organizational skills, multitasking, courteous customer service, and the ability to manage confidential records and to operate standard office equipment; must work under supervision while also functioning independently as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited high school or possess a high school equivalency GED
- More than two years of clerical, secretarial or office administration experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of office administrative practices; proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and electronic mail; ability to manage confidential records and provide responsive services
- Ability to master detailed procedural requirements, produce accurate work, coordinate multiple activities, meet deadlines and prepare routine and specialized reports
