Job Summary
Develop instructional plans for in-person, distance, and virtual learning that fulfill district curriculum requirements while modifying curricula for students with special needs according to Individual Educational Plans. Plan, prepare, and execute lessons, instructional strategies, and activities that reflect accommodations for individual student needs. Monitor and assess student achievement through informal and formal testing procedures, manage student behavior adhering to the District Discipline Management Plan, and supervise teacher aides or volunteers. Keep informed about current legislation and educational developments by participating in state and national professional organizations, attend staff development sessions, and compile, maintain, and file all required reports and records. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and district personnel via phone, email, or video conferencing, and establish open lines of communication with colleagues and community members. Work 187 working days, maintaining professional ethics and serving as a positive role model for students.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Texas Teaching Certificate, with required endorsements for subject/level assigned or other permits as approved by state
- ESL Certification, required (only for English Language Arts positions)
- At least one (1) year of student teaching or approved internship
