Job Summary
Deliver engaging live virtual history lessons aligned with state social studies standards for grades 6-12 while developing and administering formative and summative assessments. Utilize educational technology to facilitate small-group instruction, provide individualized academic support, and maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress. Analyze student performance data to identify learning gaps and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Collaborate with curriculum specialists, fellow educators, counselors, and special education staff to strengthen curriculum implementation and support student outcomes. Periodically support on-site testing events and participate in virtual professional development. Requires a valid Missouri teaching license with Secondary Social Studies certification and a Tennessee license as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of successful teaching experience, preferably in a secondary setting
- Experience teaching a variety of secondary history courses, including World History, U.S. History, Civics, and Geography
- Demonstrated experience utilizing virtual learning platforms and educational technology
- Proven experience working independently with minimal supervision, including the ability to manage a digital task list and maintain a stable remote (home-office) infrastructure
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience using the Google Workspace suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) in a professional or academic setting
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas via written channels (Email, Google Chat, and Document Comments) with high clarity and low ambiguity
- Access to a private, secure, high-speed internet connection with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds
- Bachelor's degree in History, History Education, Social Studies Education, or a related field
- Master's degree preferred
- Valid Missouri teaching license with a Secondary Social Studies (6-12) certification
- Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a valid Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate Secondary Social Studies endorsement
