Job Summary
Deliver engaging live virtual lessons and facilitate asynchronous wellness projects aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for grades 9–12. Adapt physical education activities for safe home-based participation while fostering inclusive classroom environments that promote student accountability and social-emotional development. Design and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding of health concepts, analyze performance data to adjust instructional strategies, and collaborate with curriculum specialists to enhance the Stellar Virtual Health/PE program. Provide timely feedback on assignments and participate in on-site testing events throughout the academic year. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic progress while utilizing Google Workspace tools to communicate with students and staff.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant role or industry
- Strong understanding of adolescent development, health education principles, and physical wellness practices for high school students
- Experience adapting physical activities and wellness instruction for virtual or non-traditional learning environments
- Demonstrated experience utilizing online learning platforms and educational technology tools effectively
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills in a virtual setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote instructional environment
- Ability to differentiate instruction to support diverse student learning and physical ability needs
- Proven experience working independently with minimal supervision, including the ability to manage a digital task list and maintain a stable remote (home-office) infrastructure
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience using the Google Workspace suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) in a professional or academic setting
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas via written channels (Email, Google Chat, and Document Comments) with high clarity and low ambiguity
- Access to a private, secure, high-speed internet connection with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds
- Residency in the state of Texas
- Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with Health and/or Physical Education endorsement
Desired Qualifications
- Experience adapting physical activities and wellness instruction for virtual or non-traditional learning environments preferred
- Additional certifications related to wellness, coaching, fitness, or health education preferred
