Job Summary
Lead and coordinate the school's special education program, serving as LEA representative for IEP meetings, managing IEP scheduling and compliance, and supporting transition planning for high school students. Deliver special education professional development to SE staff, collaborate with the leadership team to ensure services, accommodations, and testing supports are provided, and work with families, community partners, and district teams to promote equitable instructional outcomes. Requires several years of experience with IEP meetings and LEA responsibilities, Maine state certifications, and preferred advanced degree in special education or related field.
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of experience leading IEP meetings and/or assigned LEA representative responsibilities
- Maine State Teaching Certificate with Endorsement 286 and/or experience working in programs or students with significant special education needs
- [Preferred] Advanced degree in special education or related field
- [CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS] One of the following Maine State Certifications (Teacher Certificate with 282 Endorsement; Administrate Certificate 030; Administrator Certificate 035; Certificate 079) and Maine State CHRC authorization
