Job Summary
Collaborate with colleagues to determine instructional needs, teach socially acceptable behavior using positive reinforcement, and establish procedures to ensure order among students. Provide differentiated instruction in support of students' goals in English, Mathematics, or Science while monitoring students in classrooms, cafeterias, playgrounds, and hallways to maintain a safe environment. Support administration of standardized testing, utilize audiovisual aids and technology to supplement instruction, and adapt methods to recognize differences in each student's medical, physical, and emotional needs. Enforce school rules and policies, maintain efficient record-keeping, and actively participate in meetings and professional development activities to improve student achievement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- Valid Paraprofessional Certificate
- Special Education experience
- Regular and Reliable Attendance
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Work with frequent interruptions
- Fingerprinting and background checks
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
