Job Summary
Supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff while managing the daily operation of the detention facility. Coordinate work assignments, establish schedules, and conduct routine inspections of the facility and equipment. Transport juveniles to court, school, and recreation activities; monitor intake and report preparation procedures; and assist with handling difficult situations. Provide on-the-job training for new employees, review incident reports, and inventory supplies. Requires a valid state driver's license, Juvenile Supervision Officer certification, and English proficiency. Compensation ranges from $27.47 to $28.59.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
- High School graduation or GED equivalent
- Specialized training supplemented by two (2) years of experience with a juvenile detention center, law enforcement, case work or closely related experience
- Juvenile Supervision Officer certification
- Must be able to lift between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis
