Job Summary
Direct the learning experiences of the students to meet planned instructional objectives; teach district approved curriculum; prepare for and develop lesson plans; implement varied instructional techniques; evaluate pupil growth through tests, observations, and performance assessments; identify pupil needs and provide referrals and accommodations; collaborate with staff to plan instructional goals; maintain a safe and orderly classroom; maintain records and communicate with students, parents, and the community; participate in meetings and professional development; support extracurricular activities; adhere to ethics and district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate major or course of study from an accredited college
- Valid Arkansas teaching license for the grade level or subject area assigned
- Pass all required criminal background checks at personal expense
- Meet Highly Qualified Teacher designation requirements if applicable
- Ability to perform duties while following district policies as well as state and federal regulations, guidelines, and laws
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret printed instructions, professional journal handbooks, bulletins, announcements, etc.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and work cooperatively with students, peers, and parents
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions or instructions
- Demonstrate skill in written and oral communication, which could include effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of students, administrators, staff, and the general public
- Demonstrate adequate computer skills, including Internet research, data entry, grade reports, etc.
