Job Summary
Instruct secondary science students (grades 7-8) using state frameworks and curriculum maps, adapting methods to meet varying needs while maintaining a cooperative relationship with staff. Establish clear lesson objectives, prepare materials, and communicate progress via Edline. Manage classroom behavior, enforce district policies, and guide students on equipment safety. Maintain accurate student records, administer standardized tests, and develop Academic Improvement Plans. Confer with parents, counselors, and administrators to resolve behavioral and academic issues, including 504 and IEP plans. Attend professional development, staff meetings, and committees to maintain competence. Prepare reports on student activities and collaborate on program evaluation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Arkansas Teacher's License with appropriate certification
- Highly Qualified Teacher status (if applicable)
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
- Appreciation for diversity
- Ability to pass required ASP/FBI/DHS background checks
- Valid driver's license
