Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines, adapting instruction to meet individual student needs and learning styles. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing while managing classroom behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per Individual Education Plans and work cooperatively with staff to set instructional goals. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities and serve as a positive role model supporting the school district's mission. Compile and maintain all required reports, records, and instructional materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Current automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- One year student teaching or approved internship
