Job Summary
Consult with campus staff to interpret TEKS, Scope and Sequence, and Mastery Learning Documents while developing and implementing instructional action plans based on science assessment data. Collaborate with science leaders and administrators to facilitate team planning, provide professional development including peer coaching and model lessons, and assist teachers with technology integration. Align and develop instructional resources for secondary science courses, use data to address identified needs, and present professional development sessions on mastery learning and formative assessments. Observe teachers, provide feedback, and support the implementation of new instructional strategies to create learning environments for all students.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized, accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certification in secondary education
- Minimum of four (4) years of successful experience as a secondary science teacher
- Commitment to life-long learning that supports high-quality first-time science instruction, including the use of technology
- Ability to develop and write curriculum
- Ability to lead professional learning
- Ability to manage data
- Demonstrated skills in leading, motivating and cooperating with other teachers, campus administrators and district personnel
- Preference given to applicants with experience in secondary science
