Job Summary
Oversee Secondary Operations (Barcoding and Fabrication) personnel and production, maximizing operator and machine utilization while ensuring safe work practices, quality products, and controlled inventory. Conduct daily shift meetings to review safety, quality, and productivity, and complete reports tracking production progress. Ensure operators follow policies, verify new employee training, and coordinate product movement between the warehouse and production area. Manage quality complaints, support continuous improvement projects, and perform monthly safety audits maintaining 5S standards. Lead and direct current employees to achieve daily performance goals, provide constructive feedback, and ensure proper PPE usage. Review and submit timecards weekly, communicate with other departments, and respond to down machinery via protocol. Work the 3rd shift Sunday to Friday, 10:45pm to 7am, for 48 hours per week in a fully onsite role at the Brownsville, TN plant.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Results driven with ability to manage change while keeping a positive environment
- Proven competency in computing skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Share Point, Outlook) and ERP Systems
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English to follow work instructions
- Basic mathematical skills and counting ability
- A good memory for part numbers
- Ability to sort out several problems at one time
- Ability to relate to all personnel he/she comes in contact with
- Ability to get along and be able to interface with other Westlake Pipe & Fittings associates
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds 3 feet high
- Must be able to operate a pallet jack and remove full pallets from the secondary operations areas to the finished goods warehouse
- Good hand and eye coordination for working on parts labeling
- Ability to walk and/or stand for periods up to 12 hours at a time
- Must be able to work 3rd Shift: Sunday to Friday, 10:45pm to 7am, working 48 hours/week
- This is a fully onsite role. Must be able to commute daily to our Brownsville, TN plant
- Knowledge of a standard production environment
- Must have sufficient understanding of good manufacturing practices
- Ability to lead a large number of employees in daily production processes
- Ability to manage inventory in and out of department
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of pipe fittings by fit, form and function is a plus
