Job Summary
Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions as part of the Child, Youth and Family Mental Health Services Multidisciplinary team in a tertiary mental health setting. Deliver individual, family, and group counselling, assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate therapeutic interventions, and liaise with families and community programs. Work autonomously within a collaborative, inter-professional framework and apply Trauma Informed Model of Care. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant social science, two years of related experience, DSM IV knowledge, and compliance with relevant acts, with First Aid/CPR and a valid BC driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a Social Science relevant to Child/Youth mental health, plus two years recent related experience in the assessment and treatment of Children/Youth with psychiatric/mental health concerns.
- Working knowledge of DSM IV diagnoses and related treatments, the Mental Health Act, the Hospital Act and the Child, Family and Community Service Act.
- Basic First Aid certification with CPR.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
